To ensure food safety and guarantee that the general public can enjoy a happy Spring Festival, the Liaoning Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau and the Dalian Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision recently carried out a joint inspection of the festive market for food and agricultural products certified products across 10 districts, cities and counties in the city. During this intensive inspection, the Liaoning Inspection and Quarantine Bureau deployed over 20 person-trips, while the Dalian Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision deployed over 60 person-trips. A total of 10 supermarkets, 2 specialty stores and 2 farmers“ markets were inspected, along with 124 batches of domestic organic products, 7 batches of imported organic products, 109 batches of green food, and 80 batches of pollution-free agricultural products, involving a total of 63 production enterprises; 60 other imported food products were also inspected. The main inspection aspects were as follows: (1) forging, misappropriating, illegally trading, or irregularly transferring certificate and certification marks; (2) using certification marks on products outside the product varieties permitted by the certification body certificate; (3) using certification marks beyond the validity period of the certification body certificate; (4) failing to obtain organic product certification while labeling products or packaging as ”organic product“, ”organic conversion product“, or simultaneously labeling them with words such as ”pollution-free“ or ”purely natural“; (5) labeling organic conversion products or their packaging as organic products or with the organic product certification mark. It was preliminarily ascertained that there were 8 problematic products, mainly involving issues such as labeling product outer packaging with misleading terms like ”original ecology, matured, 100% purely natural" without passing organic product certification, exceeding the validity period for using certification marks, and irregular use of certification marks. At present, these problematic products are under further investigation and verification. This joint inspection of the sales sector for food and agricultural product certification in various shopping malls, supermarkets, farmers“ markets, and specialty stores across our city by the Dalian Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision and the Liaoning Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau marks a solid step forward in advancing the ”broad quality work mechanism“ and ”broad quality culture construction“.
