On 10 June 2010, FOFCC was invited to send representatives to attend and participate in the revision work meeting for the Administration Measures for Organic Product Certification (hereinafter referred to as the "Measures") held by cnca in Nanjing.文章源自FOFCC-http://www.fofcc.org.cn/en/11240/
Last year, cnca carried out a post-legislative evaluation of the Measures. The results show that since the Measures were promulgated and implemented in 2005, they have regulated organic product certification activities, unified the procedures and logos for organic product certification, promoted the development of organic product production, processing and trade, protected consumer interests, and played a significant role.文章源自FOFCC-http://www.fofcc.org.cn/en/11240/
Through post-enactment evaluation, cnca also sorted out and summarised the problems that arose during the implementation of the Measures. In response to these issues, it is planned to revise and supplement the Measures in the following areas:文章源自FOFCC-http://www.fofcc.org.cn/en/11240/
- Require quality inspection and inspection and quarantine departments at all levels to further clarify their regulatory responsibilities for organic products, strengthen macro-management of the organic product market, ensure the healthy and orderly development of the organic industry, and guarantee the quality of organic products.
- Strengthen supervision over organic product producers, and detail regulations on penalties for various illegal acts. Emphasise that organic producers are the primary persons responsible for the quality of organic products and bear primary legal liability, while certification bodies bear joint and several liability.
- Strengthen the regulated management of certification bodies and organic product testing institutions, and enhance the effectiveness of organic product certification and the accuracy of organic product testing results.
The holding of this meeting has laid the foundation for the revision of the Measures. The promulgation and implementation of the new Measures will further regulate the order of China's organic product market, crack down on various malpractice in the production of organic products, accelerate the pace of China's organic industry in gradually aligning with international standards, and ensure that consumers can buy reliable and safe organic products.文章源自FOFCC-http://www.fofcc.org.cn/en/11240/
